KöR whitening
KöR whitening is a dentist-supervised system that uses custom trays and refrigerated bleaching gels. Your dentist chooses the treatment protocol, which may include home use, office treatment or both. The starting point is an examination and a realistic discussion about the color change you want.
Our free guide focuses on veneers. Its clinic checklist and travel questions can also help you prepare for a dental consultation abroad.

How KöR whitening is planned
The manufacturer supplies a family of treatments, including daytime and nighttime tray systems. KöR-Seal trays are made for the individual patient. The chosen gel and protocol determine how the trays are used; instructions for one version should not be applied to another.
KöR whitening instructions include specific handling requirements for the gel. The manufacturer calls for refrigeration when it is not in use. Ask how to transport your supply, where to store it and what to do if it has been left in heat.

Read the manufacturer's patient information with your dentist. It separates daytime and nighttime instructions and includes application videos. A generic tray illustration, like the one here, does not establish the fit or design of your prescribed trays.
What can actually change?
Bleaching changes natural tooth color. It does not straighten teeth, repair a chip or lighten existing crowns, veneers and tooth-colored fillings. The American Dental Association overview explains these limits and the common side effects. If dental work is visible in your smile, discuss the potential color mismatch before starting.
One unusually dark tooth or a new change in color deserves assessment. Your dentist needs to understand the cause before recommending a cosmetic treatment. For the broader treatment categories, return to our teeth whitening guide.
Three stages to discuss with your dentist
- 01
Assessment and a treatment plan
Tell the dentist about previous bleaching and any sensitivity. Bring records of existing dental work if you have them. Ask whether KöR whitening suits the type of discoloration you have. Agree on the planned stages and the point at which the dentist will review your response. A product name alone does not describe the full course.
- 02
Trays and home instructions
At the fitting appointment, have the dentist show you how to seat the trays and use the prescribed amount of gel. Confirm wear time, cleaning and storage. KöR whitening instructions should match the exact product you receive. Contact the practice if the trays feel uncomfortable or the written directions are unclear.
- 03
Review and any office stage
Some protocols include an office visit as well as home treatment. Confirm whether this applies to you and how it fits around travel or work. Do not extend the home course yourself because a photograph or an advertisement suggests a lighter shade. The review is an opportunity to assess your response and comfort.
Understanding KöR whitening cost
KöR whitening cost is a quote for a treatment plan, not just a syringe of gel. Ask for an itemized estimate that identifies the prescribed protocol and what happens if more visits are needed. This page does not list a confirmed Colombia Smile Studio price or confirm that the clinic stocks this system.
When reviewing KöR whitening cost, check whether the examination and custom trays are included. Ask separately about the home gel supply, any office stage and later maintenance. Two quotes can describe different courses even when they use the same brand name.
Questions to take to the consultation
- The proposed course
- Which protocol is being recommended, and why does it suit the discoloration and dental work present?
- Included appointments
- Does the fee cover the fitting, progress review and any planned office treatment?
- Additional supplies
- What would replacement trays or further gel cost, and when would they be appropriate?
- Care while away
- Who should you contact about sensitivity or a tray problem if you have already returned home?
Planning treatment around a trip
Confirm availability with the treating practice before booking. KöR whitening can involve work at home between appointments, so a single visit may not complete the prescribed course. Ask for a schedule and gel transport instructions that fit your itinerary. Include accommodation and follow-up arrangements when considering the overall expense.
If whitening is your only planned treatment, care closer to home may be more convenient. If it forms part of a larger dental plan in Medellín, our travel information can help with practical questions once the clinical sequence is clear.
Sensitivity, shade and maintenance
Temporary tooth sensitivity and gum irritation can occur during bleaching. Discuss previous sensitivity before starting KöR whitening. Ask for the product-specific plan for managing symptoms and when to contact the practice. Marketing about comfort does not mean that every person will have a symptom-free course.
The manufacturer's nighttime instructions say to discontinue use and consult your dentist if irritation develops. Follow the advice supplied with your own treatment. Do not add more gel, combine products or increase wear time in an attempt to speed up the result.

The KöR-Night patient instructions explain gel storage and cautions for that version. Your dentist should confirm which current instructions apply to your supply.
How long will the shade last?
Plan for review and maintenance rather than a permanent shade promise. The NHS patient guide explains that whitening is not permanent. Future staining and personal habits affect the appearance over time. Ask your dentist when to review your result and whether further treatment is appropriate.
Before bonding or veneers
Agree on the treatment order before new restorations are made. Existing restorations will not bleach with natural teeth. If you also want to change shape, discuss composite bonding or veneers separately. A dentist can explain when the color should be reassessed before selecting a restorative shade.

Bring your questions about your smile
Ask about the proposed product, likely schedule and follow-up. The free Veneers Abroad Guide also covers clinic questions and planning a dental trip.
KöR whitening questions
Details to clarify before agreeing to treatment.
Does KöR whitening need a light or laser?
The manufacturer describes its system as using neither lights nor lasers. Ask which protocol is proposed and whether it includes an office stage. An office appointment does not automatically mean a light will be used.
Can it treat tetracycline staining?
The manufacturer markets protocols for difficult discoloration, including tetracycline staining. That is not a guarantee of your result. A dentist needs to assess the cause and pattern of discoloration, then discuss the possible response and treatment duration.
Can I buy the gel and choose my own trays?
This system is supplied through dental professionals and uses its prescribed trays and instructions. Ask your dentist about replacement supplies. Do not assume a generic tray or a gel found online is an appropriate substitute for your treatment.
Is the result guaranteed to match before-and-after photos?
No. Another person's starting shade, restorations and response do not predict your own. Use photographs as discussion material, then agree on realistic expectations with the treating dentist. This page does not present generated images as treatment results.
Does Colombia Smile Studio provide this system?
This is an educational brand guide, not confirmation of clinic inventory. Ask the practice which whitening system is available and whether it is appropriate for your teeth before paying or arranging travel.
